Bone is broken down and rebuilt during the animal’s entire life. Normally, these are processes that you don’t even notice. However, the mechanisms depend on many factors like load, hormones, or cell availability. When bone breakdown and formation fall out of balance, bones become weaker and injuries can occur. The ratio of bone breakdown to bone formation is normally kept in balance. However, this process is influenced by load and subject to many factors. Overload can translate into injury in all tissues. Collagen provides strength and elasticity to various types of connective tissue (such as cartilage, bones, tendons and ligaments). There are more than 14 types of collagen. Type I collagen is especially important for soft tissue (tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, etc.) while type II collagen is an important building block for cartilage.
Besides the well-known hydrolysed type II collagen, Cavalor Arti Repair also contains the innovative native collagen type I (eggshell membrane (ESM)) and type II (UC-II®). Native collagen’s mechanism of action is completely different. By retaining its spatial structure, this form reaches the intestinal wall undigested where it triggers an immune response. This results in a stimulation of the natural healing mechanism of joint cartilage. ESM contains collagen as well as a matrix of bioactive molecules including hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulphate and glucosamine.

Organic chelated trace minerals copper, zinc, manganese: play an important role in joint mechanism. Chelated minerals are more bioavailable than inorganic trace minerals.
