Tom Balding Advantage Short Shank Medium Low Port

This Advantage Bits feature a heavier 3/8” tube shank in a satin finish and do not have copper inlays. A quicker action and release with the added weight. The mouthpiece is the Medium Low Port©. This shank measures 7" overall.

Tom Balding mouthpieces are 5 1/8” wide and made of sweet iron for increased salivation and a more relaxed response and do rust. Shanks are satin finish stainless steel that will not rust

Sweet iron will rust when it comes into contact with (air) humidity; the surface rust tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the saliva production. This will cause the horse to salivate more which in turn encourages better acceptance of the bit. The rusting process (oxidation) changes the colour of the bit to a brownish-grey.

A beginning of this desired oxidation process may already be visible when purchasing a new bit.
